Dinner Plate Tree (Pterospermum Acerifolium) is medium-sized tree, native to monsoonal and riverine forests from India to Myanmar, with very large leaves to 35 cm in diameter that are traditionally used for wrapping food or as a natural, disposable plate. The large, white flowers open at night and are intensely fragrant. Parts of the tree have uses in traditional medicine. The wood is durable but soft. It makes a valuable ornamental for tropical areas.
