This Scindapsus pictus cultivar has similarly-sized leaves to its close relative, ‘Exotica’, and indeed, some of its leaves are likewise marked by more silver than others – it’s possible to find a stem of ‘Exotica’ tucked in among the ‘Silver Splash’. Eventually growing long, cascading vines, this plant is simple enough for the beginner, and rare enough for the collector.

Scindapsus pictus “Silvery Ann” is a new cultivar that resembles “Argyraeus” in leaf size but displays irregular, large splashes of silvery variegation on its leaves. This silvery type of variegation is what is known as blister variegation. Unlike the variegation in other plants such as Pothos or Monstera, blister variegation is caused by the epidermis and lower layer of the leaf separating causing air pockets to form.
